How do I hire a crane through Crane Choice?
Complete our Find a Crane to Hire enquiry form. We’ll review your requirements and contact suitable independent crane owners to discuss availability and options.
What information do I need to provide?
Tell us the crane type, minimum capacity, project location, estimated start date and hire period. Details such as boom length, access constraints and lifting requirements are helpful where known.
Do you only source certain types of cranes?
We consider enquiries for different crane types and capacities. Availability depends on the equipment held by suitable independent crane owners.
How does registering my crane for dry hire work?
Use our private List Your Crane for Hire registration form. Crane Choice reviews each submission and may contact you about suitable enquiries. Registration does not automatically publish a crane or guarantee a hire.
Are there any fees to register my crane?
Submitting a crane registration is not itself a hire agreement. We discuss any applicable commercial arrangements directly before progressing an introduction.
Do you confirm hire rates or terms?
Crane Choice coordinates the enquiry and quote process. The final equipment availability and hire terms are confirmed with the crane owner.
How do payments work?
The crane owner invoices the hirer directly for the agreed hire charges. Crane Choice’s separate commercial arrangements with suppliers are handled privately.
Can I register more than one crane?
Yes. Submit an individual registration for each crane so that its specifications and availability can be reviewed accurately.

List Your Crane for HireOur Role — Independent Dry Hire Introductions
Crane Choice Pty Ltd provides an independent introduction service connecting crane owners with prospective dry hirers throughout Australia. Any dry hire agreement is entered into directly between the crane owner and the hirer.
Crane Choice is not a party to the equipment dry hire agreement and does not supply, operate, transport, service, maintain, take possession of or exercise operational control over the hired crane.
Dry Hire – Terms & Important Information
1. Independent introduction service
Crane Choice may assist with enquiries, availability and the communication of hire quotations, but provides an introduction service rather than the equipment hire itself. Crane Choice is not the crane owner, hirer, equipment supplier or crane operator under a dry hire agreement between those parties.
2. Agreements, hire rates and payments
The crane owner and hirer must confirm their own written dry hire agreement. They are responsible for agreeing the hire period, rates, payment terms, security requirements, invoicing, insurance and all other hire conditions. The crane owner invoices the hirer directly under their agreement. Any separate referral arrangement with Crane Choice does not make it a party to that hire agreement.
3. Operators, transport, maintenance and damage
The owner and hirer must expressly agree who provides and pays for operators, crane transport, servicing, maintenance, inspections, breakdowns, repairs and damage or loss during hire. Where the written hire agreement allocates these costs and responsibilities to the hirer, they are obligations between the owner and the hirer, not Crane Choice. Fair wear and tear, pre-existing defects, insurance and return conditions should also be addressed in their agreement.
4. Equipment details, suitability and compliance
Crane owners are responsible for the information they provide about their equipment. Owners and hirers must undertake their own checks regarding crane condition, suitability, availability, insurance, qualifications, safe operation and legal compliance. An introduction by Crane Choice does not constitute an independent inspection, certification or warranty of the equipment. Each party retains any work health and safety or other statutory duties that apply to it.
5. Contract performance, disputes and liability
Crane Choice does not undertake or guarantee either party’s performance of their dry hire contract. To the extent permitted by law, Crane Choice does not accept responsibility under that contract for hire payments, equipment breakdowns, damage, theft, loss, delays or disputes arising between the owner and hirer.
Nothing in this notice excludes, restricts or modifies rights, guarantees, duties or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability relating to Crane Choice’s own conduct where applicable law imposes responsibility.
6. Introduction fees
Any introduction or referral commission payable to Crane Choice is governed by a separate agreement with the relevant party. Such an arrangement does not make Crane Choice a party to the equipment dry hire agreement.
